Today I visited my first Hobby Lobby, as well as Florida's largest dollhouse/miniature store and museum. It was a blast - I loved both places so, so much and am sad that I live no where near them. I plan on visiting both each time I come back, though. c:
These two pictures include my purchases from both places.
Top picture (Hobby Lobby): 1:12 Tea Set, Picnic Table, Cafe Table and Chairs, two wooden buckets, pots and pans, coke cans, a whisk with a bowl and cookbook, miniature books, and tiny Christmas lights.
Bottom picture (Ron's Miniature Shop, Inc): Table and Chair set, Pots and Pan set, Dinnerware set, 4 paper bags, 4 paper grocery bags, 4 mini bottles, 3 square glass containers, 1:12 straws and straw holder, wine bottles, wooden container, 2 small wooden bowls, waffle maker, and a cake box.
I'll try and get the pictures I took of Ron's up when I can. That place was just mind blowing; it was literally wall to wall COVERED in dollhouse miniatures. If you could think of it, it was there in miniature. The oddest miniatures I found were of coffins. I would totally live in that place if I could. c: If you're up in Orlando, I urge you to visit this place.
Pictures of Ron's Miniature Shop, Inc now up here:
Omg I would never ever ever want to go to such a place I think I would be so tempted to spend tonloads of money, after squeing/squiing (is that a verb? I basically mean this: but then in sound xD) untill I have no voice left over. And if I still was 10, I wouldn't even be tempted I just WOULD spend a tonload of money (if I ever had that back then)
Haha I can SO imagine you'd be totally broke Lol and I can imagine the overdose of crazy squeeing too ^^ Must have been absolute cute-heaven to see all those beautiful miniature houses. Too bad there aren't too many people on dA that make/decoratie them mostly only miniature/kawaii food Which is quite understandable because the average dollhouse probably takes up a lot of room and it costs a small fortune to decorate it =/ and to be honest, even if it's super pretty: it's useless But still a shame though, I'd love to see some dollhouse decorators on dA ^^
I would love to have a full dollhouse (actually, I had a handmade one when I was young but we tossed it - I regret it so much now :/), but I don't have the money at the moment to get a nice one. Plus space is limited already with all my miniatures cluttering up my apartment. XD I'm actually trying to figure out how to make my roombox multi purpose so I can convert it from a pastry shop to, say, a kitchen; that way I can have multiple rooms with just one large box!
Food is my favorite to make. I love to decorate and get very meticulous with details, and pastry/dessert is the perfect thing for that.
Ahh no, you tossed it? What a shame! Not so weird though, it's something you don't think you'll need anymore at the age of 14/whatever when you stop playing with toys You're not instantly thinking 'oh wait, maybe I'll get interested in miniatures later. I'll just keep it, better be safe than sorry!' so totally understandable
Nice idea btw of making your roombox into multiple rooms, hope it works out Because indeed, I can imagine you don't have a lot of room available with such a hobby xD
Ahh that's true, desserts and pastries are SO nice! I've never stopped loving it, even when I was little each of my toys had the most epic food/dessert/table ware collection imaginable because I loved it so much So I can imagine it's a super nice hobby to make all of that stuff yourself ^^ Even though it looks quite hard
Do you know Sylvanian btw [link] ? Those truly were (and are ) the most beautiful toys ever to be made. So much detail, and the food and tableware was always SO damn cute
ohh that's a shame Maybe later if you live on your own and can affort an appartment/house big enough you can have your own studio miniature heaven ^^
Yes they're adorable, aren't they They're all set in victorian London so nothing modern (which I looove xD), and it has so much attention to detail in clothing and well, everything. And not even super expensive, just a little bit more than the average Playmobil or something like that (in my time anyway, not too sure about now ) but totally worth it's price ^^ I'd still be tempted to buy it if I'd see it in a shop now
i want it!!!
its that shop have a shop in indonesia?
Must have been absolute heaven to you too then ^^
Oh, I did my fair share of squeeing as I ran back and forth around the store. I think the owners must have thought I was nuts.
