My wedding was a little over a week ago, and I'm starting to work on my thank you cards.
Along with the cards, I'm sending one of these wedding cake slices.
We didn't have a cake at our wedding, which I know was strange to most of the people that attended. I thought it'd be nice to give everyone something that would last longer than a simple thank you note...and work a cake in there somewhere.
The cake is my design. I love pale blue and brown together; it's such a nice, crisp combination of colors. There are micro beads in purple and light blue to accent the cake. The initials on the top are, of course, of our first names.
The writing on the top is...not 100% yet. I need to go over it once more with some black paint.
I may have gotten in over my head; I only finished this slice and only have 2 others iced and not decorated and that took me nearly an entire day (with several interruptions, but still).
This has gotten me thinking..maybe I should offer to do a memorial slice of cake for other weddings? Copy the pattern and colors and whatnot so the couple can have a piece always preserved.
I love this, and I love the idea of making one for other weddings as a memorial piece type thing. It's so cute! And I love the chocolate swirly icing stuff on the back of the slice.
This is so adorable
