Miniature Koi Pond by Bon-AppetEats Miniature Koi Pond by Bon-AppetEats
Miniature koi pond. Made from polymer clay and resin.

After seeing Mel’s tutorial a couple of years ago, I finally decided it’s time to make a koi pond of my own!

I changed a few things around and added some plants and different textures to the bottom of the pond. I don’t quite care for the rocks but it’s all I could find on such short timing (I want to take at least a couple of these with me to Orlando).

The pond almost didn’t make it. I poured too much resin for the final layer and it flowed out and over the sides. I left it overnight and came back to it firmly stuck to my tile. I managed to pry it loose and have learned for my second attempt to make the wall around the pond even. :P

If I can find a way to do it, I'll be trying miniature fish tanks next!

if you don't mind me asking, how did you do the pond?

Very nice looking. Curious to see how a fish tank would look. www.usplastic.com/catalog/item… this may be helpful for glass. it does say rigid.

That is so adorable! I kind of want one. I have 3 lake minnows.. I'm not sure if there would be much room for them.

It's wonderful!  I like the colorful rocks you used for the border.  I love how real this looks!

Yes!! That makes me happy :D

Do you paint the koi by hand? Or is it different colors of clay? I really want to try and make a koi fish pond, but I don't have a lot of experience working with clay (not that that will stop me from trying!)
