1:12 Dollhouse scale rolls, croissants, and hot cross buns, made from polymer clay.

Forgot to include the dime since these were just going up on Etsy at first. Then I realized I hadn't posted them here. :P

I've also finally added the rest of my bread items to my Etsy shop as well. :D

Incredible. You never cease to amaze me. In fact, you get better at doing so every time you make something! Those rolls on the left are the most impressive to me though. Fabulous work!

And I am curious about what the baking powder method is that *Carlsbergensis mentioned. Is it fairly easy to explain? :)

Thank you very much! :)

This is a pretty good breakdown of the process: [link]

I've never tried it and I've heard mixed results of how it turns out. The texture looks really good, though.

My pleasure! :)

And thank you very much for the link! That's a fascinating technique. And you're right, the texture does look really good. Would be very interesting to try once anyway. I'd love to see the results if you tried it, for sure. :)

Can I trouble you with one more thing? You said you taught yourself what you know on youtube, dA and google. Would you be able to point me in the right direction for where you started? A group on dA perhaps? Or a username or two from youtube? I am finally getting over my flu and am really getting excited to try this.

I know you are busy, so if you can't, I totally understand. :) Thank you so much for answering all my questions so far. You've have been very kind and so prompt in responding. Bless you for that.

It wasn't a specific site that I used or anything. I spent a lot of time just googling "polymer clay food tutorials" and going through pretty much every page. :) If you search for polymer clay food tutorials here on dA, you get quite a few. Pinterest has a lot of boards dedicated to that as well.

It's a bit daunting because it's a lot of information to sort though, so it might be easier to try and look for specific foods at a time. I wish you luck! :)

Great! Thank you so, so much. :thanks: I'll start checking them out tonight!

I was having trouble getting started in clay because I was trying to look for tutorials of things that were pretty obscure. I think if I begin by reproducing things I can actually look at to practice my craft, I'll be able to do well when I move on to other things.

I really appreciate your response. And it's not daunting to me because I love learning, clay and I have lots of time to practice! Thanks for the luck! I'll use it well :D

I think it is so sad that you have to use a watermark. What a sad state we have come to that you should have to do this. I adore the work, especially where the hotcross buns have been torn apart after they had joined together after rising in the oven. As a matter of interest have you ever used the baking powder method for your breads?

Thank you! I agree with the watermark. I try to make it as out of the way as I can, but with miniatures, it always seems to detract from the piece no matter what I do.

I haven't used it yes, but I want to try making cakes with it for SuperCon, since it seems like it'd cut down on a lot of time spent texturing. :)

Oh, they're really popular here. If you're curious you can always find a recipe online. I like them toasted and buttered with cookies and cream ice-cream. It sounds strange but it's actually really good :)
