1:12 Easter Hams by Bon-AppetEats 1:12 Easter Hams by Bon-AppetEats
1:12 Dollhouse scale Easter hams decorated with pineapple rings and maraschino cherries, sitting on a wooden board decorated with lettuce, red and green grapes, and orange slices.

The hams...need a lot of help. :P The ham cane came from a book for a raw ham and I don't think I tweaked the colors enough inside to look cooked. Ah well, I've got an easier way to do it now. :)

Also, sorry about the photo. I was trying to figure out how to properly light my lightbox because I NEEDED to take these photos at 11pm. :c

You made these yourself from scratch? Impressive! I honestly don't see how people are able to complete such feats. I can barely even stand still for a minute without starting to fidget around with something. Great work!

May I ask how you slice the 'ham' so thinly and evenly? For me it is so very difficult!! Mine looks like an uneven mess! -.-

I formed the ham shape and applied the texture/coloring to the outside. Once that was done, I put it in the freezer for 5-10 minutes and sliced it then.

Clever! Nice idea to put it into the fridge so the polymer clay wouldn't... cave in? How do I explain that!? Also, May I ask if you've done a ramen bowl? I think it would look wonderful in miniature version. :)

Wow, it looks fantastic!
Did you paint the outside layer, or is the outside its own layer of clay?

They look delicious to me haha. All that wonderful fruit to eat all around it. And topping it with pineapple and maraschino cherries is the best! I think this is one of the best pieces I've seen you do yet :) Certainly a lot of work. But I can appreciate all of it. And I know you'll make it even more amazing the next time you try!

Thank you! I'm planning on doing the hams a tiny bit differently in the middle next time. I found some tips on a miniature forum that should make the process much easier. :)

It looks really realistic, for the ham (the texture is nice) and I love the grapes, they look very realistic because of that matte color...
