1:12 Scale dollhouse carrots made from polymer clay.

I remade my carrots for the Boca show and now I'm finally getting around to putting them on my Etsy. :)

In the next couple of days I'll have all my veggies, fruits, fish, and bread up. I'll post something when it's all done.

The lighter lines you got on the body of the carrots are perfect! The colouring's spot on too. And perfect for Easter time coming up :)

Very very impressive. I am in awe of the foliage. That must be hard work and is why I missed it off my ones the other day.

Thank you. Did you use the carrot tutorial here on dA? That's the one I followed and it shows how to do the tops. :)

Wow, amazing! Very detailed, looks like it's fresh out of the garden :la: I just wanted to know, whenever I bake something, the bottom of my clay piece gets like a shiny spot on it after baking! It's really annoying; I was wondering if anyone else had this problem or if it's just me >.<

Thanks!

If you bake on tinfoil or a metal pan, you'll always get a shiny spot. The best way to make sure you don't is to bake on a paper plate. Since the temperature for baking polymer clay is low, it won't burn the plate. At least not with a small clay oven (pretty much a toaster oven).

Thank you for the advice- I tried this last night and it worked! Thanks so much! The paper plate did get pretty hot though, lol!

I've never had that issue before. The only issue I've run into is getting a shiny spot on them from where they've sat on the tinfoil when baking. An easy way to deal with that is to bake them on a paper plate.

Hmm I see. Maybe it's the clay I'm using.. or the temperature. I also bake my things on either a plate or a block of wood covered in aluminum foil.

Thanks for the answer!

The only thing the aluminum foil will do is make a shiny spot wherever the clay has sat on it. :)

Remember that different brands of translucent polymer clay will each look different. I've found that the Fimo brand of translucent works best for fruits.
